Is Bee Honey Powder Right for You?

Anyone who keeps honey in the pantry has met the grainy jar. Meyer Bees, which also sells queen bees and beekeeping supplies, offers bee honey powder as a way to sidestep it. Liquid honey is sugars plus a little water. Glucose can slip out of that mix and form crystals, which is natural, not spoilage.

Powdered honey suits:

  • Pantries tired of crystallized jars
  • Desk drawers and bags, since packets don’t drip
  • Cooks who measure ingredients dry
  • Gift baskets that need small, sealed portions

FAQs

Does honey powder go bad?

Honey is famously shelf-stable because its low moisture and high sugar content keep microbes from growing. Dried honey has even less water, so the main job is keeping moisture out. Store the pouch airtight in a cool, dry cupboard, and use a dry spoon to scoop. If the powder clumps, it has absorbed moisture, so reseal it and use it soon.

Is it safe for babies?

No. Honey can carry Clostridium botulinum spores, and an infant’s digestive system can’t handle them. That applies to every honey product, powder included, until a child turns one.

Should I buy the packets or the bulk pouch?

The bulk pouch holds 10.6 oz and works well in the pantry, where you scoop what you need for regular use. The packets are 50 individual 2 g servings, each sealed until you open it, so they are easy to tuck into a bag or drop into a gift basket. Pick the pouch for home use and the packets for anywhere else.

Where can I find liquid raw honey?

Browse the Raw Honey category, where Meyer Bees lists local and varietal honeys along with samplers. Those come as liquid honey, ready to pour, while the powder suits pantries and packed bags.

Can I visit Meyer Bees in person?

Yes. The Minooka showroom is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so you can browse beekeeping supplies in person.
