Hello and thanks for visiting the Meyer Bugs page! Here at Meyer Bees we have been working with honey bees for many years. The honeybees are a seasonal insect that is managed during the warmer months here in the Chicagoland area. We also work with mason bees and leafcutter bees which are solitary bees and are great for pollination of fruits and garden plants. During the colder months there is not much opportunity to work with the bees except to check feed levels and add more food if necessary.

A while back we started branching out into other insects that can be enjoyed all year long in a terrarium type environment in your home. Our recent additions are springtails and isopods. We are amazed at the variety of isopod colors and sizes available! Stay tuned for more Meyer Bugs content in the coming months relating to springtails and isopods as we gear up and begin sharing what we have been working on.
